Wagyu is also internationally known as "Japanese black cattle" or "Kobe-cattle". In Germany a middle-sized cattle with plain hair covering black or red till red-braun is bred. Characterizing is a light head, strong forehand with good depth, almost horizontal pelvis, fine dry limbs with tight relatively big hooves. Hair covering is short and smooth.

Body-build:

Harmonious muscular with elongated structure of veal part and wide well-muscled shoulders, extremely structured veal part is undesirable. Slightly inclined horns with strong bottom, polled cows are genetically possible. Calm and good-natured, good pasture suitability. Early calving maturity, high productivity with average calving period of 365 days, easy births, good motherhood features and sufficient milk to rear the calves. Well-shaped and set udder with good nipple structure.

Features:

Depending on the feeding system cattle is ready for cutting up when elder than 30 months. This cattle race is extremely productive on beef with extreme marbling due to a very high intramuscular proportion of fat.
